Castelo Rodrigo is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, with an area of 32.94 km² and 517 inhabitants (2011). Its population density is 15.7 inhabitants / km².
Castelo Rodrigo is considered a historic village in Portugal since 1991.
The Municipality has a variety of tourist potentials, ranging from scenic beauty to historical, archaeological and architectural values, from handicraft and gastronomic diversity to very characteristic parties and pilgrimages, including fish and hunting skills.
The deep valleys of the Águeda and Côa rivers, the international Douro and its river pier, the Serra da Marofa, which offers magnificent views, are often the motivation for the movement of visitors, mobilized by the dazzling of a unique landscape, where the existence of viewpoints, whether natural or built, provides them with a picture of great quality and rare beauty.
