Numão is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, with an area of 22.87 km² and 240 inhabitants (2011). Its population density is 10.5 inhab/km².

History
Numão is a very old population, probably inhabited by Celtic peoples before the Romanization.
From the Roman period, there are several monuments, namely fountains, the bridge over the Teja river, Inscriptions, and the columns of the Roman forum located in the castle.

The castle has a Romanesque church, a cistern, and walls with six towers, which were rebuilt in medieval times and in the 1950s.
You can still see numerous anthropomorphic graves, inside and outside the castle.

The Parish is made up of the villages of Arnozelo and Numão.
